Skilled massage therapist! Helping greatly with body aches and pains of pregnancy. Highly recommend! Started at 36 weeks and wish I had started earlier in pregnancy.

Best prenatal and postnatal massage in town! If you are currently pregnant or recovering after birth look no further - David really is the best at what he does! When I was pregnant I was looking for a prenatal massage, and I was at first … More hesitant to see David because I didn’t know how I will feel being pregnant and being massaged by a men. I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did - David is very professional and made me feel comfortable during all our sessions. I have been receiving massages every couple of weeks before giving birth and I felt a lot of relief after each session. I have been having problems with swelling, lower back pain and sciatic nerve pain and David was able to address all that. He also worked on my shoulder where I have been experiencing a chronic pain due to the old injury and I am so relieved to say that pain is almost completely gone. Thanks to David I am now able to lift my baby without the pain in my shoulder and this is priceless. David also specializes in postnatal massage and recovery, among other things he is helping me with the recovery of c-section scar tissue. He has been very attentive to my needs and listened very carefully what I need from each session. Needless to say I can’t recommend him highly enough!

I was finally able to get real relief for my muscles. It seems that most practitioners are afraid to use much pressure on pregnant women, but David was amazing! I was actually able to walk out of this appointment feeling real relief for … More my tired and acing muscles. I told a friend that I could even walk more comfortably when I left. At almost 39 weeks, that is a major accomplishment.

Massage is safe during all phases of pregnancy, and has many benefits, including:

  • Reduced back and joint pain
  • Reduced anxiety, stress, headaches, and muscle tension
  • Better sleep
  • Reduced swelling
  • Improved circulation and oxygenation of muscles and soft tissues

Moms-to-be rave about our Earthlite pregnancy massage cushion, which has recesses for the belly and breasts. This allows you to lie prone comfortably without putting pressure on the baby.

With you lying face down, we can address any pain in your back, shoulders, and hips.

About halfway through the massage, you’ll turn onto your back in a semi-reclined position. We’ll elevate the right hip to prevent supine hypotensive syndrome. We’ll then massage the head, neck, shoulders, arms and hands. We use light compressions on the legs, as deep tissue massage is contraindicated in the legs during pregnancy to reduce the risk of blood clots. You’ll also get a great ankle and foot massage.

Time permitting, from the semi-reclined position, you turn to the side. The rest of the massage is then focused on the back, hips, and ribs or other focus areas.

We are not trained to work with high-risk pregnancies, which include risk factors such as gestational diabetes (unless well managed by a healthcare provider), preeclampsia, eclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, premature labor, or lack of fetal movement for 8 to 10 hours.

We also offer perinatal massage during the postpartum period.
